Norwegian Cabbage Salad

Type of Dish Salad

Ingredients
- 1/2 medium cabbage (shredded)
- 15 g (1 tbsp) salt
- 300 g (2 cups) diced celery
- 1 green bell pepper (diced)
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 2 carrots (shredded)
- 200 g (1 cup) sugar
- 200 ml (1 cup) vinegar
- 5 g (1 tsp) mustard seed
Preparation
- Mix cabbage and salt and refrigerate for 2 hours. In saucepan, put sugar, vinegar, and mustard seed; bring to a boil until sugar dissolved. Let cool.
- Mix vegetables with cabbage and pour cooled vinegar syrup overall and mix well. Refrigerate about 2 days or more in covered container. Serve cold
