The Healthy Section invites you to discover that Healthy food can not only be fun and delicious, but also at the same time can even be good for your health. This section of my site is packed with information that leads you to healthy choices with food. There is a focus on the recent science of food synergy. Synergy in Greek means working together. Food Synergy has recently become a popular new food science that studies ingredients that when combined are more beneficial to our health than if they were to be eaten separately.
Phyto-chemicals play a major roll in this science, "Phyto" refers to the Greek word for plant. Plant foods contain thousands of natural phytochemicals (more than 25,000 kinds) that can be abundant in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans and tea. The phyto-nutrients in the food we eat may help prevent disease and keep your body working properly. Some common phyto-nutrients are Carotenoids, Ellagic acid, Flavonoids, Resveratrol, Glucosinolates and Phytoestrogens.
