Korean Style Bulgogi Beef with Sweet Soy Marinade

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1.1 lb) Beef sirloin steak (Thinly sliced)
  • 1 Ripe pear (grated)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (crushed)
  • 10 g (2 tsp) Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 60 ml (4 Tbsp) Spring onion (finely chopped)
  • 5 g (1 tsp) Black pepper
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) Soy sauce
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 12 ml (2 ½ tsp) Sesame oil
  • 10 g (2 tsp) Toasted sesame seeds
  • 20 g (4 tsp) Honey
  • 10 g (2 tsp) Brown sugar
  • 60 ml (4 Tbsp) Japanese sake

Preparation

  1. Slice the beef thinly with a sharp knife. Put all the ingredients together in a bowl add the sliced beef mix well. Leave to marinate for 2 hours
  2. Cook over a Korean BBQ. Serve on top of cold iceberg lettuce
